Superstar team of Grant Morrison and Liam Sharp deliver the best Green Lantern comic since Geoff Johns acclaimed run.

Morrison, known for his world building and mind blowing stories, is a perfect match for Green Lantern. He wrote a perfect jumping on point issue for new and returning fans alike. The idea of Hal Jordan as this drifter, that is constantly on the move never sleeping in the same place for more than a night is absolutely genius. This is really is a back to basics for the title that doesn't feel bogged down by the stories that came before. Hal Jordan first and foremost is a pilot but he's also a space cop. Turning this book into a cop procedural another interesting idea that Morrison brought to the book. As the story starts Hal has been "grounded" by the Guardians, but a new mysterious case forces them to call on Hal to help solve it. The Controllers have returned and have created something that could only come from Grant's mind.... The Anti-Matter Lantern
The story that Morrison has crafted was brought to life by the bombastic and detailed art of Liam Sharp. The world building that Grant did has given Liam the chance to create new planets, aliens, and Lanterns as well. Liam is churning out some of the most elegantly designed artwork of his career. If you thought his Wonder Woman work was great, just wait until you get a load of this book. You can see the energy and enthusiasm he's pouring into every page. The double page spread Liam drew at the end of the issue, of things to come, made me even more excited than I already was. Two words.... Hal and Ollie.

When this book was announced, I was already sold on it. I mean, come on, Grant Morrison and Liam Sharp on a Green Lantern book, what more could you ask for. This is the kind of book Grant was meant to write, a book set in outer space with endless possibilities. A book with new worlds and galaxies for Liam to flesh out and breathe life into. With just one issue, these two amazing creators brought back a long time Green Lantern fan, myself, back into the fold. This is the way you do a Green Lantern book and I can't wait to see what these two mad geniuses have in store for us.
