It's time to showcase another cosplayer. This time we talked to BunnyBii. While she's only been doing it for the past couple years, she's quickly built a huge fanbase. Her amazing cosplay is only matched at her sweet personality.
She's best known for her GwenPool and Spider-Gwen cosplay. Not only is she one of the best cosplayers out there, but she's also a graphic designer.
With only a few years under her belt, I can only imagine what cosplay she'll come up with next. If you guys want to learn more about her, you can follow her on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
COMIC LOUNGE: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
BUNNY BII: Yeah! I'm Ash aka BunnyBii. I'm 22 years old and outside of cosplay I'm a graphic designer.
COMIC LOUNGE: What inspired you to start cosplaying?
BUNNY BII: When I was about 12, my Dad took me to SDCC. I was super into TF2 at the time so after seeing other people cosplay it I had to join in! The community was so warm and welcoming. I felt right at home.
COMIC LOUNGE: How long have you been cosplaying?
BUNNY BII: I've been dressing up for a long time, but didn't start fully cosplaying until about two or three years ago.
COMIC LOUNGE: One of my favorite cosplays of your is Spider-Gwen. What do love most about that character?
BUNNY BII: Awh thanks! I've always loved Gwen but never really connected with her other than my hair being blonde. However, once Spiderverse came out I was HOOKED. She had my haircut, my features AND my personality! I also used to be obsessed with ballet too, so it was a good excuse to get back into it.
COMIC LOUNGE: Who are some of your other favorite characters to cosplay as and why?
BUNNY BII: Oh man, most of my favorites people don't even know I've cosplayed! Sniper from TF2, Sans from undertale, Hunter from L4D.... they're just so different and have so much personality to play off of.
My favorite one that people know me for has to be Gwenpool. Surprising it's not Pennywise but...as cool as Penny is, shes SO DIFFICULT to put on and even harder to take off. Gwenpool however is easy AND fun to portray.
COMIC LOUNGE: What have been some memorable moments you've experienced while cosplaying?
BUNNY BII: Singing to Justin Roiland as Tiny Rick comes to mind, or hosting a TF2 gathering that had around 100 people when I thought the game was dead.
But out of all of that I think the best moment was when I cosplayed Sans. So many kids came up to me and lost their minds. I think that's my favorite part of cosplay; when someone truly believes you are that character and it makes their day to see you.
COMIC LOUNGE: How long do you see yourself continuing to cosplay?
BUNNY BII: I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. I love the idea of being the cosplay Grandma, that dresses up as old Harley or Granny from Loony Toons.
COMIC LOUNGE: What comics/shows are currently reading/watching?
BUNNY BII: Just read The Amazing Spider-Man #66 today, and been catching up on Dragonball. But usually I'm reading webcomics like Still Life by Ana_Godis or For You by XnatiiartX!
COMIC LOUNGE: What do you find most rewarding about what you do?
BUNNY BII: Seeing my work inspire others to be creative themselves has been really incredible for me. I make sure to post every fanart I receive.
I've also had parents ask me to say happy birthday or congrats for their kids as Gwen or Captian Marvel, and it's those little moments that can make me grin for days.
Just keep doing what you love, don't let anyone tell you you can't cosplay, draw or write.... just make sure you're having fun and being safe.
