The Comic Lounge Picks of the Week (7/10)

Updated: Jan 25, 2020

Holy crap!!! I think this might be one of the best weeks of new comic books in recent memory. After two amazing debut series last week, SEA OF STARS and NO ONE LEFT TO FIGHT, we see have even more new series to be excited about.

Not only do we have a new issue of EVENT LEVIATHAN and CRIMINAL, but we start the final arc of Aaron's THOR. Plus we have four, that's right, four new #1's. We have the BITTER ROOT: RED SUMMER SPECIAL #1, BLACK HAMMER/JUSTICE LEAGUE, UNEARTH and REAVER.

I think it's safe to say that Image is winning this week, by a mile.

EVENT LEVIATHAN #2

After the events of last issue, our League of Detectives is beginning to come together to uncover the mystery of, "Who is Leviathan?".

Bendis and Maleev, in one issue, have shown how important this book is to the DCU. They are gathering an amazing group of characters and have built the tension expertly. This is one event you shouldn't miss.

Here's the solicit:

Lois Lane leads Batman, Green Arrow, Plastic Man, Manhunter, the Question and a couple of genuine guest sleuths in the search for who Leviathan is and how their plans have already unfolded. This issue also guest-stars Red Hood, Batgirl and more!

THOR #15

After that stunning ending in WAR OF THE REALMS, Aaron is winding down to the end with his epic THOR run. What could Marvel possibly need to have classified? I guess you'll just need to read it to find out.

Don't miss the beginning of the end.
