RYAN'S PICKS

HOUSE OF X #6

This is it the end of HOX, what madness can we expect from this last issue??? This is gonna be a big one guys.

Here's the solicit:

THE INEVITABLE FUTURE. The revolutionary tale of Mutantkind's rise comes to a conclusion that will lay the groundwork of the X-Men's stories for years to come! Superstar writer Jonathan Hickman (AVENGERS, FANTASTIC FOUR, SECRET WARS) and Marvel Young Gun artist Pepe Larraz (EXTERMINATION, AVENGERS) wrap the series that changes everything!

RUBY FALLS #1

Small town murder, that's been covered up for years??? This is my kinda tale. Plus it's from Berger Books, so you know it's amazing.

Here's the solicit:

Ruby Falls is a sleepy town. But sleep brings nightmares, and Lana is about to wake up in the middle of her hometown's biggest secret: the "disappearance" of infamously progressive Betty Gallagher during the mobster-ruled heyday of the old mining town. When details of the cold-case murder start to come out through her grandmother Clara's foggy, dementia-jumbled memories, Lana becomes obsessed with cracking the case, even if it splinters the peaceful town-and endangers everything she loves.   From Ann Nocenti (The Seeds, Daredevil) and rising talent Flavia Biondi (Italian artist of La Generazione making her American comics debut) comes Ruby Falls: a neo-noir tale of love, memory, and murder mysteriously woven through three generations of women, and hinging on their individual, intertwined fights for freedom.

GREEN LANTERN #12

The final issue of season 1 of Morrison an Sharp's Green Lantern run. This has by and far been one of my favorite DC books this past year. How will it end? How does it lead into next months Blackstars? This sure to be another psychedelic soace opera for the ages.

Here's the solicit:

The Green Lanterns will fall! Insidious plans meticulously set in motion since issue #1 have reached their boiling point. As defeat looms for the Corps, Hal Jordan's showdown with his monstrous antimatter counterpart sets the stage for the final pages of this issue-and the moment that will echo throughout the entire DC Universe! How bad is it for Hal and the Corps? There's no GREEN LANTERN #13 next month...but writer Grant Morrison is crafting the next chapter of this story, and it's coming soon! Only there's no "Green Lantern" in the title. After the events of this issue, how could there be?

GHOST RIDER #1

Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch are back, and this Ghost Rider fan couldn't be happier. I can't even describe the pure joy and excitement I feel about this book. I can only imagine how  great it's gonna be with Brisson writing and Kuder on art.

Here's the solicit:

ALL HELLS BREAK LOOSE! The Brothers Ghost Rider are back! Johnny Blaze ain't just the king of Hell-he's the warden too. He's the first line of defense between the demonic hordes trying to escape the joint and the lords of other hells making a play for his throne and all the power that comes with it - including a certain evil queen from his past! Meanwhile, Danny Ketch never wanted to be a Ghost Rider. Now that his brother's in charge downstairs, Ketch must take on the duty of Earth's Spirit of Vengeance full-time-no matter how much he'd rather be doing anything else... Superstar creative team ED BRISSON (EXTERMINATION) and AARON KUDER (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY) redefine the Marvel Universe's supernatural underbelly for a brutal new era! PLUS: the first installment of the Caretaker Chronicles! Forget everything you thought you knew!

GENEVIEVE'S PICK

NOMEN OMEN #1

Ever since I discovered how intense my love for DIE is (by KIERON GILLEN), I'm trying to find new RPG inspired titles to fill up my collection. So, when I heard NOMEN OMEN was written by RPG creator MARCO B. BUCCI, there was no choice but to add this title to my pull. And who could resist a suspense fantasy story filled with witchcraft... Perhaps a new favorite title for some Halloween reading? We'll see!

Here's the solicit:

“TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART,” Part One No matter how fast you run, sooner or later your past will catch up with you. Enter Becky Kumar, a geeky twenty-year-old from New York City who is about to cross the veil between our reality and a realm of otherworldly truths. From writer and RPG creator MARCO B. BUCCI (Magna Veritas, Memento Mori) and artist JACOPO CAMAGNI (X-Men Blue, Deadpool The Duck) comes a tale of tales, witchcraft, and secrets for mature readers that rewires the rules of urban fantasy. #wakeup

DYLAN'S PICKS

DCEASED #5

The third act of Tom Taylor’s DCEASED is upon us and I’m ready for more death… or at least, I think I am?

Here's the solicit:

The world is dying at the hands of the infected, and the very survival of humanity is at stake. Facing extinction, Superman and the heroes will make a decision that will fundamentally alter Earth's present...and future!

DIE #8

A character who’s always intrigued me since this all started has always been Matt, the Grief Knight. A warrior who draws strength from sadness? That’s makings for a memorable character!

Here's the solicit:

"SPLIT THE PARTY," Part Three The endless social whirl of the popular unpopular kids in Angria threatens to ensnare the party. Mistakes have grown in their absence. Have our heroes?

SEA OF STARS #4

Jason Aaron’s Finding Nemo in Space continues on. Who knew I’d be so invested in a comic about a space trucker?

Here's the solicit:

"LOST IN THE WILDS OF HEAVEN," Part Four Kadyn is finally waking up to the fact that he's lost in space... and that his only hope is a star-spanning shaman named Dalla. Can she help train him to harness his burgeoning powers-or at least keep him from feeling so homesick?

SHAH'S PICK

DEAD EYES #1

If you missed out on Gerry Duggan and John McCrea's first outing of this renamed Image title, now's your chance to hop on board. A hitman comes out of retirement to save the person he loves. Everything about this book appeals to me. It's smart, brutal, funny and not a book to miss out on.

Here's the solicit:

You can't keep a good comic down. In the 1990s, DEAD EYES was a prolific stick-up man and hoodlum in Boston until he took down one last big score and disappeared. Nobody ever discovered the truth. He retired to be with the love of his life, but now he's back in the mask to save her. No one-not his wife, the mafia, or the cops-is happy that he's out of retirement. From JOHN McCREA, the artist and co-creator of MYTHIC and Hitman, and GERRY DUGGAN, the writer of ANALOG and DEADPOOL, comes the action, comedy, and drama of Martin Dobbs, a.k.a. DEAD EYES, the man who says he's descended from one of the original gangs of New York City. Get on board the oversized first issue of an all-new ONGOING SERIES for mature readers.

SOPHIE'S PICKS

VAMPIRE STATE BUILDING #1

Halloween’s just around the corner, and who better to quench your thirst for all things spooky than the legendary Charlie Adlard? This sounds almost as if Die Hard and Dracula had a baby...I’m game.

Here's the solicit:

The newest horror series from the artist of The Walking Dead, Charlie Adlard! Just in time for Halloween, get ready to be bitten from the first full color page. Terry Fisher is a young soldier on the verge of being sent away for active military duty, and is going to meet his friends at the top of the Empire State Building for a farewell party. But suddenly a legion of vampires attacks the skyscraper and massacres its occupants. Hounded in the 102 floors that have become a deadly trap, Terry must take decisive action to save himself and his friends - and the city of New York - before the army of abominations, and the terrible vampire god within, walled in the building since its construction, spill into the city!

VENGEANCE OF VAMPIRELLA #1

Tom Sniegoski is back, paying tribute to his original Vampirella series of the 90s. I’m excited to dive in and see what the creative team have in store for us with the debut issue of this exciting new series!

Here's the solicit:

Originally debuting in 1994, Vengeance of Vampirella portrayed a more savage and feral look at the Daughter of Drakulon. Now, for the 50th Anniversary of Vampirella, original series writer Tom Sniegoski (joined by the incredible art of Michael Sta. Maria) is back and issue #1 features a host of incredible cover artists. Set 25 years after the initial series, Vampirella is Dead!? Long Live Vampirella! Humanity holds on, but barely, the playthings and slaves of a multitude of supernatural monstrosities that have made the earth their own.  Mistress Nyx continues to rule the planet, her Chaos Lords reigning over the various regions of the world, but she is getting bored - There's no one to challenge her! That is, until a small, but determined rebellion finds what could be their savior or seal their doom! This new series - and anniversary event - is not to be missed! THOMAS E. SNIEGOSKI is the author of more than two dozen novels for adults, teens, and children. His teen fantasy YA series Fallen was adapted into a trilogy of monstrously successful TV movies by ABC Family Channel. The author's first adult novel, A Kiss Before the Apocalypse, developed into a series of novels about the character Remy Chandler.
