RYAN'S PICKS

HELLBOY WINTER SPECIAL 2019

I can't get enough Hellboy, so whenever we get a new book it's always a treat. These Winter specials are something I look forward to every year now. I love the different collaborators we get plus I love how we get 3 short stories in one book. The perfect gift for any Hellboy fan.

Here's the solicit:

Celebrate the season in true Hellboy fashion! Meet a ghostly miser in an alternate reality, fear the Boogam of rural New York, and embrace the wrath of St. Hagan in this trio of occult winter tales! The familiar faces of Hellboy, Sarah Jewell, and the legendary Knights of St. Hagan will help you ring in the new year with all the shivers you can take-and not all of them from the cold!

FLASH #86

The conclusion to "Rogues Revenge", one of my favorite arc yet. I can't wait to see this epic battle between Flash and Captain Cold. With Flash's powers outta whack, this definitely won't be an easy one.

Here's the solicit:

The Flash battles Captain Cold for the last time! The Rogues' Reign is a brutal battle for power over Central City, but the tides are turning and the reign approaches a deadly end! With the Speed Force in chaos, can Glider help channel Flash's powers long enough to overthrow her brother, Captain Cold?

QUESTION THE DEATHS OF VIC SAGE #2

The first issue was phenomenal and I can only expect more Question greatness in this one. I said it last issue, this is probably my favorite Black Label book and I hope they continue to utilize Question after this series concludes. DC needs more book like this in their lineup.

Here's the solicit:

In modern-day Hub City, Vic Sage died. And then he woke up. In Hub City...in the 1800s! The legend of the Man with No Face rides across the Old West, discovering a shocking connection running through history all the way to the day he died...and pointing to more carnage yet to come!

MARIO'S PICKS

SPAWN #304

As a long term fan of Spawn I've been really curious to see what new approach McFarlane may have for Spawn after all these years so I'm really looking forward to seeing what this issue brings now that Al is starting to form his own squad.

Here's the solicit:

"HELL HUNT," Part Three As Reaper and She-Spawn fight for their lives against the Hellhounds, Spawn is forced into the public spotlight in order to stop a strange new villain that's rampaging through New York City. Can Al Simmons continue to convince the world he's a "normal" hero, or will his dark side come to light?

DEAD EYES #4

Dead Eyes(Rabbit) was one of the real standouts of 2018 for me and I've been really looking forward to the series coming back. So if you're a fan of crime comics and/or Duggan, come back later this week to see if this latest issue lives up to the promise.

Here's the solicit:

Dead Eyes' secret identity gets a little less secret as the mafia situation comes to a head and he finds a brutal new enemy in Boston's finest.

TREVOR'S PICKS

JUSTICE LEAGUE ODYSSEY #17

PING. Evil Cyborg is on the hunt for Green Lantern and her new team. After the last few issues, I'm curious to see how Jessica Cruz can turn things around and stop Darkseid with the hand she's been dealt.

Here's the solicit:

Green Lantern Jessica Cruz and the new JLO have their first encounter with their lost friend Cyborg. Will Victor Stone's hidden messages be the clue to releasing him from Darkseid's deadly grip-or is Vic gone forever? And how much is Jessica willing to risk to save her old friends?

AVENGERS #29

This Avengers in Space stuff is crazy! Now they've got former Heralds of Galactus hunting them down and half the team have some new looks. This arc has been wild, fun and I can't wait to see who the Starbrand is.

Here's the solicit:

STARBRAND REBORN Part Three: THE RISE OF THE WAR WIDOW The battle for the Starbrand heats up like a supernova, as Captain Marvel goes toe to toe with Firelord, Ghost Rider races the Silver Surfer and Brood Thor... tries to eat the Avengers. Meanwhile the Black Widow kicks much butt in outer space with a bold new weapon in her arsenal. That's right, the Black Widow + the War Machine armor = the all-new, all-deadly War Widow.

LEGION OF SUPER HEROES #3

It wasn't a goodbye but a see you later for the Supersons as three issues into Legion of Superheroes and John invited Damien to the future to attend. Will the Legionnaires accept him because of his legacy or deny him membership for no powers? Also, what's on that training video Superboy is supposed to watch?

Here's the solicit:

You knew there was no way Jon Kent was going to leave his best friend behind! Welcome to the future, Damian Wayne! (This is such a terrible idea!) Also, meet the new Legionnaires as they head to a secret undercover mission on the first man-made planet: Planet Gotham. Every page of this new DC epic plants seeds and ideas that will blast out across the DC Universe for months to come! All this, and Monster Boy is on the loose!

DYLAN'S PICKS

SOLO: THE SURVIVORS OF CHAOS

This title is finally being released to English-speaking audiences for the first time this week! I had no idea what I was getting into, but I couldn’t be happier to share with you all this beautifully sequenced events of a young rat turned gladiator in a desolate wasteland where only the strong of mind can survive.

Here's the solicit:

In the future, the Earth, ravaged by nuclear wars, gave birth to an array of new mutated species, which grew and repopulated the land. But this new world is far from peaceful, and life in it is often short and brutal. To make life easier for his poor family, Solo, a young rat, decides to strike out on his own. But he soon finds that in this hostile world only the strongest and the most ruthless survive ...

UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY #3

Quite possibly the most intriguing non-cape title of 2020. I absolutely love Snyder’s work and I can’t wait to see how much more twisted this dystopian America will be.

Here's the solicit:

The expedition undertakes a desperate attempt to rescue a member of the team from the Destiny Man's strange caravan city. Success or certain doom hinges on Americana expert Ace Kenyatta, PhD—what he knows about the new lands…and what he doesn’t.
