I don't' know if any of you were as excited as I was when this book was first announced, but I was fucking stoked. Most of you are probably familiar with Mike's work on books like POWERS and more recently UNITED STATES OF MURDER INCORPORATED, for his art. But it's his writing that has truly won me over as a fan of his. It was 2 stories he did at Marvel,

#80-85: "Ragnarok" &

Travel Foreman

, those 2 books Ares till favorites of mine to this day. I've always been a huge fan of mythology involving Norse and Greek gods, and he does is one of the best to ever do it. This book seemed like it was gonna be an exciting adventure book full of action, and let me tell you something, it was so much more.

The story takes place In the aftermath of Ragnarok (The End of Everything) , Oona Lightfoot, a young elf, who feels trapped within the safety of her realm shielded from the end of the world outside. The Elves safely retreated to their hidden realm of Elfheim after defeating Loki. Oona wants nothing else then to be a Ranger. She sets out on this epic journey, into the post-apocalyptic chaos, to discover the fate of the old gods, but also to save her friend who was left behind.

Oona's journey is far from an easy one though and she learns that early on. Her quest to become a Ranger and save her friend leads her to make some rash decisions that will have a profound effect on the entire Nine Realms. Running out of options, she seeks assistance from the last person you would expect. The ending will leave you wishing this book wasn't quarterly

Throughout this book not only do we get an awesome story full of humor and action, (I mean the book clocks in at 56 pages!!!), but the art was some of the best I've ever seen from Oeming. Taki Soma's coloring gave the evoke a sense of whimsy and nostalgia. Every aspect of this book was executed amazingly.

From the expansive world building to the, to well thought out characterization of Oona and the rest of the cast, this book is shaping up to be something really special. Just wait till you see that page of things yet to come, I guarantee you'll be just as excited as I am.
