RYAN'S PICKS

BANG #1

Matt Kindt and Wilfredo Torres bring us a new type of secret agent, with a twist. This issue was phenomenal and did a great job of setting up this interesting new series. If like James Bond, you will love this book, not to mention it got an endorsement from none other than Keanu Reeves

Here's the solicit:

A best-of-the-best secret agent with memories he couldn't possibly possess, a mystery writer in her 60s who spends her retirement solving crimes, a man of action with mysterious drugs that keep him ahead of a constant string of targeted disasters, a seemingly omnipotent terrorist organization that might be behind it all... And they're all connected to one man: a science-fiction author with more information than seems possible, whose books may hold the key to either saving reality or destroying it. o A mind-bending story that ties in with past Kindt works (Revolver). o Action, mystery, and altered reality!

BITTER ROOT #6

One of my favorite series of last year is finally back. The Sangeyre family is back to battle a new threat. Walker, Brown, and Greene created something really special with this title and have already raised the stakes with this new issue. If you haven't read vol. 1 of this series, now is the perfect time to catch up.

Here's the solicit:

NEW STORY ARC! The critically acclaimed series returns! Loved ones once thought lost forever have hreturned, though the bliss of this family reunion doesn't last for long. Cullen has changed, and everyone is concerned. But they'll need all the help they can get, as a new threat has arrived on Earth...

ON THE STUMP #1

Ever since this book was announced, I knew it was gonna be a hit. Having read this book over a month ago, I've been eager to share my thought on this awesome new book. Chuck Brown who is also one of the creators of Bitter Root has come up with a unique idea of politicians fighting in combat to pass bills or get elected into office. The premise is amazing and don't even get me started on Prenzy, his art is fucking insane. You guys have to check this book out, trust me.

Here's the solicit:

SERIES PREMIERE! Each issue of arc one features a connecting variant cover by SANFORD GREENE! The campaign trail is paved with blood and broken bones. History diverged in 1868 when a pivotal presidential debate turned violent. Today, elections are decided by highly publicized hand-to-hand combat in arenas called Stumps. Unfortunately, the violence doesn't end in the ring, and powerful people can still get away with murder. Senator Jack Hammer and FBI Agent Anna Bell Lister are teaming up to bring it all down. Eisner-nominated writer CHUCK BROWN (BITTER ROOT) joins forces with Italian artist PRENZY (#Like4Like) and letterer CLAYTON COWLES to create a hyper-violent tale full of countless injustices-and people who have to fight for their place in it.

DYLAN'S PICK

WOLVERINE #1

The Best there is BACK! Back to kicking ass in his brown suit! Back to making iconic one-liners! Back to add the element of Adamantium to action scenes! The Canucklehead who’s done it all finally has it all! A home, a family, a purpose. But what’s the worst thing that could happen to a man that finally has it all? Losing it all. And this series promises to be something awesome with Benjamin Percy (writer for Wolverine: the Long Night) at the helm of writing and the linework being put back into hands of a Kubert (Adam, specifically), add that with the carbonadium comeback of one of Wolverine’s greatest foes, Omega Red, a berserker barrage of variant covers (INCLUDING A JIM LEE VARIANT!) and this new series promises to be stabbingly good!

Here's the solicit:

THE BEST IS BACK! Wolverine been through a lot. He's been a loner. He's been a killer. He's been a hero. He's been an Avenger. He's been to hell and back. Now, as the nation of Krakoa brings together all Mutantkind, he can finally be... happy? With his family all together and safe, Wolverine has everything he ever wanted... and everything to lose. Writer Benjamin Percy (X-FORCE, WOLVERINE: THE LONG NIGHT) and legendary artist Adam Kubert (X-MEN, AVENGERS) bring the best there is to his new home! PLUS: The return of OMEGA RED!

TREVOR'S PICKS

VALKYRIE JANE FOSTER #8

Asgard Synergy! A new job title can always feel overwhelming when new obstacles present themselves. Luckily, Jane Foster knows some great resources higher up in the Asgardian company to assist in her work this week. Looking forward to seeing Thor and Valkyrie connect after both taking on new roles.

Here's the solicit:

ODE TO THE DEATH OF MIDGARD! When Earth erupts with a cancerous contagion, it's up to Jane to find the cure. But it'll take more than her medical knowledge to fight off this infection. The source is buried deep in Asgardian legend - the sort only a king would know. Valkyrie finally joins forces with the All-Father of Asgard in a fight for the entire planet!

AQUAMAN #57

The baby is coming! THE BABY IS COMING! I'd say that I thought we had more time but no, this is happening now and I am so excited for what the arrival of this little aqua bundle of joy will mean for Aquaman, Mera and the Aquaverse within DC.

Here's the solicit:

In this issue, Mera and Aquaman welcome their very own Aquababy! In the wake of Black Manta's attack on Amnesty Bay, Aquaman encounters a new crisis when Mera unexpectedly goes into labor...and things don't look good for the queen of Atlantis. Don't miss this historic, emotional issue that kicks off a bold new era for Aquaman!

CAPTAIN MARVEL #15

This issue is going to be an absolute slug fest! With Carol working her way through "killing off" the Avengers, it was only a matter of time till we got to see her come to blows with her good buddy Jennifer Walters, aka She-Huuuuuulk! Plus it's time for some villainous monologue to reveal some evil plans this issue.

Here's the solicit:

"THE LAST AVENGER" PART 4: DESPERATE MEASURES Captain Marvel had 24 hours to kill five Avengers - and she's dangerously close to failing. Carol's plan was always flawed, but as she nears the endgame, those flaws are becoming fatal. As Vox Supreme's true plans for five dead Avengers emerge, it's more important than ever that Carol not fail today.
