The Comic Lounge's Picks of the Week (3/11/20)

RYAN'S PICKS

DECORUM #1
This book is fucking amazing. Hickman and Huddleston are creating something unlike anything we've ever seen. This is sure to be one of the most talked about books of this year. While Hickman's story is great, it's Huddleston's art that really shines in this book. If this book doesnt win an Eisner, I'll be shocked.
Here's the solicit:
SERIES PREMIERE! There are many assassins in the known universe. This is the story of the most well-mannered one. "Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others. If you have that awareness, you have good manners, no matter what knife you use."

DRAGON HOOPS
This book just might be in my top 3 book of the year already. Yang delivers one of the best basketball stories I've ever read. Not only is he a great writer but a fantastic cartoonist as well. I highly reccomend this book, especially for fellow basketball fans.
Here's the solicit:
In his latest graphic novel, Gene Luen Yang turns the spotlight on his life, his family, and the high school where he teaches. Gene doesn't get sports. But at Bishop O'Dowd High School, it's all anyone can talk about. The men's varsity basketball team, the Dragons, is having a phenomenal season that's been decades in the making. Once Gene gets to know these young all-stars, he realizes that their story is just as thrilling as anything he's seen on a comic book page. What he doesn't know yet is that this season is not only going to change the Dragons' lives, but his own life as well.

FLASH #751
After an awesome anniversary issue last week, we continue the epic "Flash Age" storyline. Things are heating up and this may just be the best arc yet. Plus will we see Jay Garrick show up? The return of Godspeed is exciting and I can't wait to see what Williamson has in store for us.
Here's the solicit:
The Flash battles Godspeed as "Flash Age" continues! In this issue, Paradox enlists Godspeed in his mission to erase the Flash legacy from existence! But when Godspeed's allegiance comes into question, Paradox proves he may be the strongest foe Barry Allen's ever faced!
TREVOR'S PICKS

ANT-MAN #3
In only two issues so far, Zeb Wells has had me both laugh and be equally terrified by the creepy crawly hijinks in this mini-series. We’ve seen Ant-Man save the bees last issue, but this time, can he save his Pym particles?
Here's the solicit:
• The threat of Macrothrax and the impending invasion looms large! • With no choice but to call the Avengers for help, will Ant-Man be able to convince them to take both this threat and himself seriously? • Plus, when a certain web-slinging hero joins the investigation, will the stage be big enough for two wise-cracking crime fighters? • Guest-starring Spider-Man and the Black Cat!

HAWKEYE FREE FALL #4
Rosenberg has really set Clint up in an awkward situation with the big reveal from issue #2. Now the guest star appearances continue and Hawkeye better get his act straight or else the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is going to catch him on his shenanigans this week.
Here's the solicit:
Daredevil tips Hawkeye off to the formation of a new task force. They have one mission: to stop the dangerous new Ronin before he tears the city apart. Clint joins up, but he can't help but notice that Ronin gets results. Whose side is he really on? And as Hawkeye's own hunt for the Hood intensifies, he's about to find himself in the sights of one of his most dangerous foes of all time...

WONDER WOMAN #753
It's been a while since I've been caught up with the Wonder Woman series so I decided to jump back in at #750. Orlando's new story has my curiosity with a new cast of villains out for Diana and mysterious swordswomen bringing giant mech bulls from the past. This issue has me looking forward to some good ol monster slaying with the Queen of Truth.
Here's the solicit:
After a tumultuous start to their relationship, Wonder Woman and the ferocious warrior known as Valda have agreed to put their differences aside to hunt a mythical beast determined to destroy Boston. Now it's a race against time to save the city and complete Valda's quest. Meanwhile, Warmaster has set her sights on the final member of her team hellbent on revenge...Genocide! Does Wonder Woman stand a chance against her former ally's growing army?
