The Comic Lounge Picks of the Week (7/24)

July 23, 2019

By the time you guys read this, SDCC will be over. After the slew of new announcements leading into the con and the amazing new series announced there. It's an exciting time to be a comic fan. If you want to hear more check out the post I did where I cover the best that SDCC had to offer, including the Eisner winners.

Anyways let's get into this weeks picks. Once again, it's DC and Marvel heavy, but once you see the picks you'll know why.

FLASH #75

The conclusion to "Flash Year One" is here. If you've been reading this arc, than you already know why this is in the picks of the week.

FLASH has been one of the most consistently good books published at DC. This arc is definitely tied as my favorite of the series, right next to "Flash War".

Williamson and Howard have done one hell of a retelling of Barry's origin. This is the perfect arc to jump into if you haven't been following the title for awhile.

Trust me... go get it.

Here's the solicit:

"The Flash Year One" finale! This oversize anniversary issue marks the end of Barry Allen's journey to become the Flash-but at what cost? The Turtle's final play will challenge our hero in every way possible, and by the end of the battle, a Flash will be born-and a Flash will die! Also in this issue, witness Lex Luthor's offer to Captain Cold, whose icy vengeance waits for the Flash just around the corner...

BATMAN: CURSE OF THE WHITE KNIGHT #1

After giving us one of the most unique and entertaining takes on the world of Batman, Sean Murphy returns with his anticipated sequel to BATMAN: WHITE KNIGHT.

The last time we visited Murphy's Gotham it was one that loved the Joker but waged war against Batman. With him set to bring in Azrael, I can only imagine what Murphy has in store for us.

Here's the solicit:
